EXERCISE
I haven't fallen off the band wagon yet, just haven’t had time to post. Did I mention I was taking a grad level summer class? Finding time to fit everything in has been difficult, but I really am determined to make it work. Today is officially Day 5 and I think I’ve done quite well over the last week. Yesterday was Yoga X. The first half was the most challenging exercise I have ever done. While I didn’t complete all the moves, I did the best I could. The second half was much better, and in fact quite interesting. The once pose I couldn’t stick AT All was the crane. Way too intense for a first time Yoga-er. The day before was Shoulders, Arms and Back. I feel good about my progress in that class. I enjoy the lifting though my arms were killing me all yesterday. Really, the main thing that I need to work on is my stomach. Unfortunately, I missed Ab Ripper X this morning. Hey, it’s a Friday and after Yoga last night, I could barely move. I plan to go full steam tonight though and make sure I squeeze in that 15 minute Ab workout.
DIET
I’ve been pretty consistent in making great choices and eating much more fruits and vegetables. While I am not totally following the P90X diet, I am very happy with the improvements I’ve made. I even said no to donuts at work this morning. I usually have minimal self control, but no sweet processed thing has entered my body since Day One….I did swipe a couple of my husbands Sun chips when he wasn’t looking though…just a few J
QT
Having a relationship with God is hard work, but I am really committed to making this happen one way or another. I am behind in my reading. I should have finished Genesis 50 yesterday, but I only got to Genesis 41. Today, I am scheduled to have finished Genesis and read 15 chapters of Exodus. I should definitely be able to catch up this weekend. Joseph’s integrity is convicting to me. His master trusted him with everything. In addition, he worked so hard that they knew he could handle responsibility. I began to ask myself…could this be said about me at work?
Until next time….

I'm reading Genesis too (tho I have to say that your reading plan looks quite a bit more intense than mine). I actually just finished reading about Joseph in my last QT. Yeah. His integrity man. Altho the great thing about reading books of the bible in large swaths as opposed to a verse or two at a time* is that you really see how situations develop. Seeing that he wasn't always perfect, but that spiritual and emotional maturity was something that he grew into as he persevered through some dead serious life challenges, was really cool. Not to mention helpful. My tendency in the past has been to give up when I don't see results of my perseverance within the time-frame that I'd unconsciously set for those results to manifest. Not good. For instance. I'd definitely have had a 'throwing in the towel' moment some time around that 'being forgotten by the cup bearer' period. Reading like that is also helping me to have a whole new appreciation of the history of that family - from Abraham on up to Joseph so far. I'm going to pick up in the beginning of Exodus today :) I'm really enjoying this :)
ReplyDeleteMan. And God is so cool man. I'm seeing Him more nd more as I read. God is straight up amazing.
*a number of chapters at a time, focusing on entire trains of thought as opposed to focusing on verse numbers or on where chapters begin and/or end.
ReplyDeleteMethinks you have fallen off the bandwagon now tho...
